The La Jolla Reader's Choice Award for Best Plastic Surgeon 2012

By Stuart B. Kincaid, MD, FACS

After decades of practicing as an award winning, board certified plastic surgeon, I still consider it a great honor to receive new awards and recognitions for my contributions to medical science and the community at large. This year, I am delighted to be the recipient of the La Jolla Village News 2012 Reader’s Choice Awards Gold Award for Best Plastic Surgeon. While I have had the honor of being selected for this award in the past, and received similar recognition over the years both in La Jolla, Temecula Valley and throughout San Diego, every new award reinforces my dedication to the art and science of plastic surgery, and inspires me to continue improving my services for the sake of my patients.

For me, the path to being selected as a top rated cosmetic plastic surgeon began with a commitment to service. Over the course of my career, I have devoted time to international Volunteer Plastic Surgery with ReSurge International (formerly Interplast) and Interface, organizations that provide reconstructive plastic surgery and other medical services to disadvantaged individuals in Mexico, Ecuador, the Philippines and other locations around the world. On these trips, I had the privilege of training many new plastic surgery residents. In addition, I served my country for four years as the Chief of the Plastic Surgery Service at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, where I was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for my commitment to duty, education and outstanding patient care of military plastic surgery patients, both reconstructive and cosmetic.

My service experiences both at home and abroad have had a profound impact on my work as a private practice plastic surgeon. I am proud that, through my volunteer and military plastic surgery work, I have learned not only how to best serve patients from a medical perspective, but also how to listen, understand and communicate with them to ensure the utmost in compassionate patient care. It is this quality, together with my deep knowledge and extensive surgical experience, which sets my practice apart. Indeed, I have derived great pleasure from providing plastic surgery services to patients from all walks of life and all ethnic groups, including Chaldeans, Hispanics, Chinese, Persians, African Americans, Caucasians and Filipinos.
