My name is Geoff Relf. My late wife Connie Relf was on the board and then president of La Jolla Art Association from 1980-82. From 1970 to 1974 we had an art gallery at 1105 Prospect St., La Jolla, which I named Black & White & Beautiful. I had been president of the Art Directors Club of San Diego and in those days much of the color printing and advertising was created in black on white with overlays indicating various percentages of "CMYK" to be accomplished by skilled crafts people called "strippers" or for color artwork or photos to be "stripped in place." Sounds familiar to "old-timers" I am sure!
