I feel a little cheated and sad every day that I drive down La Jolla Shores Drive over the destruction of the view of La Jolla we all have lost. If La Jolla had required story poles (like Del Mar) I am confident this structure would never have been built - the public outcry would have been overwhelming. Even the SIO officials might have thought differently about it's impact. Perhaps this eyesore's legacy will be the institution of story poles in La Jolla. We can only hope.
