As our City Councilmember, Sherri Lightner has stood up for neighborhood interests and been a leader on citywide issues. She fought, successfully, to end the fire station brownouts and has worked with UCSD to add a new fire station in a much needed location to serve the campus and surrounding communities. She has been a strong supporter of neighborhood libraries and rec centers at a time when they were under enormous threat citywide due to budget cutbacks. She led the effort to create a citywide Comprehensive Water Policy, approved unanimously by the City Council. She has protected Rose Canyon Open Space Park and is leading the effort to protect thousands of acres of open space citywide. Sherri deserves re-election in a landslide.
