Scott Peters opens congressional campaign office today

Port Commissioner Scott Peters is scheduled to open his campaign headquarters at 4715 Viewridge Ave., Suite 150, in Kearny Mesa from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today for his congressional run.

Peters sat on the San Diego City Council for two four-year terms before joining the Unified Port of San Diego in 2009.

He’s running for the recently redrawn 52nd congressional district  which includes Poway, La Jolla and downtown San

Diego.

The district has a near-even split between registered Republicans and Democrats. Peters is a Democrat.
