Dr. Silvia Dubovoy has been training Montessori preschool teachers at the Institute for the past 15 years. Many of these teachers now work in area schools.

Shannon Helfricht gave the keynote speech at the event and signed copies of her book, “Montessori Learning in the 21st Century: A Guide for Parents and Teachers.”

“Parents are realizing that we have to prepare children to respond to a future that we do not know ourselves,” Dr. Dubovoy said. “The old teacher-centered educational model must give way to a more child-centered approach in order for the next generation to navigate the currents of a rapidly changing society.”
