Ken, I would like to buy you a Ballast Point Pale Ale that we are no longer allowed to called Yellowtail. We are loosing our rights and attorneys are dictating too much of our lives. My son and I participated in the MLPA public impute process that was flawed and illegal. We are still fighting the closed door meetings and process. Feel free to join us and look me up at kurt.hoffman@ubs.com to take me up on my offer. Please see, http://www.savecafishing.org/ for our on-going efforts to preserve fishing for the next generation.

I am glad to at least see an article on this in the Light. However, the writer should have taken a more Journalistic approach and done some research on the subject. This process and program ( MLPA ) is deeply flawed. The science is dubious at best. The process was carried out incorrectly and in direct opposition to its own rules. There is much more to this subject. Not to mention, why punish generations of kids by not allowing them to fish? It's a tragedy. Especially considering that the Sport Fishermen are not the issue, but as usual, being penalized. Politics at work, big money at work, and loud minority “environmentalism” at work.

We are the only ones that can catch these magnificant fish. Seals try to steal our hooked fish as they are not fast enough to catch on their own. We do not need more closures we need fewer seals polluting our ocean and gorging one local baitfish. Eventually we will see more sharksIan la jolla with the current over population of seals in the area. Swimmers beware. Kurt hoffman

First of all I'm no marine biologist or anything but couldn't the finding of large fish such as his catch mean the lack of larger predators in the area and the could be a need for the larger protective zone?
