Woman assaulted on UCSD campus

UCSD press release

UCSD Police are investigating an assault of a woman in her 60s, about 4 p.m. Wednesday, as she was walking southwest of the intersection of Gilman Drive and Villa La Jolla Drive on the south side of the main campus.

The woman received minor injuries, including scratches in a scuffle, after she was grabbed from behind by a Caucasian man estimated to be in his late-40s to early-50s.

The assailant had medium-length brown hair, brown eyes and brown beard and mustache. He was last seen wearing a white or tan polo shirt and blue jeans. He may have scratches on his face.

Anybody with information on the assault is asked to call police at (858)534-4357.
