Preuss School athletic director honored

Lisa Hawk, chair of the Exercise a Health Science Department and Athletic Director at the Preuss School at UCSD, was honored Oct. as a Up2Us Coach of the Year on Oct. 5 during a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

She was one of two San Diegans among those honored for the “meaningful roles they play in the lives of the young athletes they serve” during the organization’s national summit. The group works “to change the way that people think about the power of sports to positively impact youth,” by providing support to youth sports programs across the country.
