If "“The City Council found that the rope barrier doesn’t impede lateral (human) movement at all," then what s it for? Why sue to have something that does nothing? Somebody is jiving. How about quoting what the Planning Commission unanimously ruled - that the rope was an encroachment on public access and so contrary to the California Coastal Act. It is their job to prevent permit applicants from asking for something illegal, and that includes the City.

Bravo Judge Foster!

A bit of sanity and realism in this ongoing fiasco is what the fanatics (who - make no mistake - are there as much for the publicity and $$ as they are for "protecting" seals) need to taste.

Summer and a departure of our amigo C. Eddie will bring more and more families to the coast. It's obvious that this is a very divisive topic - but let's not let propaganda and the threat of frivolous litigation keep the public from enjoying this wonderful man made beach WITH SEALS and CA State constitutional right to access the ocean from the CHILDREN'S POOL.

Why doesn't Pease just give up? The seals are not being bothered. It isn't about the seals. It is about keeping the beach open to humans.
