I think it's great that there's a new group promoting La Jolla. Our community has so much to offer, and the majority of visitors to San Diego don't know that we're here. I adore our community and have been formally promoting it since I wrote two editions of Frommer's San Diego in 1996 and 1998. In 2008, I started a blog about La Jolla called "La Jolla Travel Information." I write about hotels, restaurants, and attractions - but I also make a point of covering off-the-beaten path places. A recent post is about Snackropolis - the snack bar with the amazing ocean view at SIO. I also promote the Gliderport, the Open Aire Market, local events...anything that I think will help visitors understand how special La Jolla is and motivate them to come here.

Thanks, La Jolla Light, for letting us know about the plans of the LJVMA. I'm going to volunteer for the Promotions committee.
