Powwow set for Saturday on UCSD campus in La Jolla

The Native American Student Alliance (NASA) will host a Powwow at UCSD Muir Field from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. The free event is open to the public. The powwow will bring together Native American and non-Native American people to dance, sing, socialize, sample cuisine and honor American Indian Culture. It will be the first Powwow on campus since the early 1990s and the theme will be “Kumeyaay: Past, Present and Future.”

Around noon there will be an awards ceremony featuring UCSD Chancellor Marye Anne Fox. For more information, go to the NASA student group Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=41621118512&v=wall.
