Aztec football season tickets on sale Friday

Season tickets for the 2011 San Diego State Aztec football team will go on sale this Friday, May 20, at 9 a.m. PT. Packages start at just $66 and include reserved seats to all seven Aztec home games, the most regular-season home contests the team has played in a single year since 1995.

The 2011 home schedule features contests against Mountain West Conference newcomer Boise State, reigning Rose Bowl champion TCU, as well as home dates with Fresno State, Washington State (KGB SkyShow), New Mexico, Wyoming and Cal Poly.

Season tickets can be purchased online through, over the phone by calling (619) 283-7378, or by visiting the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium’s Window “E.” The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

With renewals and season-ticket holders purchasing additional tickets, San Diego State has already surpassed its 2010 season-ticket total.

The SDSU football team is coming off of its most successful season in recent memory, finishing the 2010 campaign with a 9-4 record and beating Navy, 35-14, in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl to record the school’s first bowl game victory since 1969. Subsequently, SDSU averaged 34,133 fans per home date, an increase of 24.8 percent compared to the 2009 average.

The Aztecs return 14 starters and seven all-conference selections for the 2011 season, including explosive sophomore running back Ronnie Hillman, 2010 conference passing leader Ryan Lindley and conference sack leader Miles Burris.
