La Jolla attorney Glen Rasmussen is looking for volunteers to help remove weeds from the community’s bike path on Saturday, April 2.

He asks volunteers to meet at Vicente Way at 9 a.m., requesting that they bring bags, rakes, gloves, hats and water.

The La Jolla bike path extends from the fire station across the street from La Jolla High on Nautilus Street to Via Del Norte in Bird Rock near the pocket park at La Jolla Methodist Church.

“A lot of weeds dry out on the path and become dangerous for pets and a fire hazard,” said Rasmussen. “We do this weed control, without touching any native plants, cutting the wild oats and foxtails. We get a permit from the city to do it.”

One of my favorite places to visit is Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park, next to Disneyland Park in Anaheim (I have a well-used Premium Annual Passport). If you haven’t been there, you absolutely must go. Highlights are the recreations of Route 66 and C […]
