La Jolla Country Day senior set to play in PGA event

The Farmers Insurance Open is less than two weeks away and on Monday, La Jolla Country Day senior Anthony Paolucci has received an exemption to play at the event at Torrey Pines Golf Course. Paolucci was named the Rolex Junior Player of the Year as a junior last season.

Other golfers who were granted an exemption to play in the tournament were John Daly, Brian Smock and Josh Anderson, who won the amateur event in the October.

The Farmers Insurance Open, the fourth of 45 events on the official PGA TOUR schedule in 2011, will get under way on Jan. 24-30 at Torrey Pines Golf Course. Ben Crane returns as defending champion after defeating Brandt Snedeker, Marc Leishman and Michael Sim by one stroke in 2010.
