Weather likely to improve this week

Rain continued to fall around an already saturated San Diego County today, but fairer weather was expected for the rest of the week,
according to meteorologists.
The National Weather Service advised that moderate to heavy snow was also likely in the mountains today, with 2 to 4 inches below 5,000 feet and 4 to 6 inches above 5,000 feet possible. A winter weather advisory for the local mountains is in effect until 10 p.m.
In all the snow and fog, motorists could expect visibility of less than one-quarter of a mile at times, according to the Weather Service.
“Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving,’” the NWS advised.
Southwest to west winds of 10 to 20 mph, with gusts of 30 mph were also in today’s forecast.
Temperatures from the winter storm were expected to peak in the low 60s along the coast and in the western valleys, mid-60s near the foothills, high 40s in the mountains, and high 50s in the deserts.
