More rain, cold possible by Wednesday

Mostly sunny skies were expected in San Diego County today but more rain is likely by Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm expected to hit early Wednesday will be colder than previous storms, but should taper off by Wednesday evening, NWS meteorologist Jamie Moker said.
The storm is expected to drop another quarter-inch of precipitation, and a half-inch in the mountains, where snow will fall above 4,000 feet, he said.
Coastal winds of 10-20 mph, gusting up to 40 mph, are also in Wednesday’s forecast, Moker said.
Last week’s rain caused washed-out railroad tracks, flooding in Mission Valley, a saturated Qualcomm Stadium and flooding along the Santa Margarita River in North County, which led to acting Gov. Abel Maldonado declaring an
emergency in the county on Christmas Eve.
