Mudslide forces evacuation in Muirlands today
Some residents in La Jolla’s Muirlands had to be evacuated Tuesday morning following a mudslide in their neighborhood, the byproduct of continuing heavy rain.
Gary Hassen, San Diego Police Department spokesman, said a mudslide occurred at 7:56 a.m. at the corner of El Camino Del Teatro and Muirlands Drive.
“There was a 20-foot-wide mudslide in the street and residents were evacuated,” Hassen said.
No other details were available.
