Faculty and staff from The Bishop’s School, La Jolla Country Day School, Francis Parker School, and Pacific Ridge School played a role in planning the National Association of Independent Schools People of Color Conference held earlier this month in San Diego. Administrators and faculty members from several of the schools presented at the conference, and Rod Jemison, director of Country Day’s Upper School, was a featured blogger.

The gathering was designed “to provide a safe space for networking and a professional development opportunity for people, who, by virtue of their race or ethnicity, comprise a form of diversity termed “people of color” in independent schools,” according to the conference website.
