Excel, Armone combine for better fit in La Jolla
By Dave Schwab
Two La Jolla fitness centers have teamed up to provide clients with an all-around workout regimen to fulfill all their personal needs.
Excel Sport and Therapy and Armone’s Core Connection have joined efforts to create the “Ultimate Fitness Experience.”
“Our vision is to offer our clients the best in true Pilates training and personal training to maximize their results,” said
, owner of Armone’s Core Connection (formerly Complete Pilates), offering group Pilates classes and personal training including bootcamps, circuit training, physical therapy, chiropractic care, massage and acupuncture. “It’s a one-stop shop in a private setting giving our clients every tool available to achieve their fitness goals.”
Trevor Isaacs, owner of Excel Sport & Therapy at 7437 Girard Ave., has expanded his business from an 800-square-foot personal training facility in 1998 into a 2,700-square-foot athletic medicine and sports training clinic. Excel specializes in strength and conditioning utilizing advanced training in biomechanics, gait and postural mechanics and pre/post-therapeutic exercise.
Isaacs said combining his fitness center with Armone is creating a positive synergy greatly benefiting both businesses and their clientele.
“Armone has closed her studio down and moved and integrated into my facility, and we’ve now got an array of strength training and physical conditioning equipment in a really nice space,” Isaacs said. “We really run the gamut now for physical therapy.”
Isaacs said Excel can begin rehabbing clients right away.
“We can take a patient who’s just had an operation right out of post-op into functional therapy with private training and group classes,” he said, adding his fitness facility has an equally comprehensive approach to athletic training and conditioning. “We can take highly skilled performers, top athletes whether it be high school, college or professional, and get a little bit more out of them pertaining to their core doing exercises requiring coordination and balance,” he said.
With Armone on board, Isaacs said the fitness center is now accommodating nearly 200 clients a week, offering them a variety of services.
