Bishop’s water polo tops Cathedral, wins Western League title

Bishop’s beat host Cathedral Catholic 11-6 on Wednesday to capture the Western League title.

The Knights showed a balanced scoring attack with three goals by senior David Higginson, two by senior Matt Michalko, two by Junior Blake Lee, two by sophomore Viktor Wroble, and one each by senior Drew Hoffenberg and junior Travis Webster.

Bishop’s wraps up the regular season with a home game on Friday against Division I Carlsbad and Saturday at perennial powerhouse Newport Harbor before heading into the CIF Playoffs next week.
