Gala guests reveal that Bugsy sent ‘em
How could guests who opened their envelopes resist what was visually the best gala invitation of 2010? In a delightful paper presentation the host trio pictured as “bosses” touted “Speakeasy: Hidden in Plain Sight,” the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute Gala, set for Oct. 23 at the Estancia La Jolla.
“As your hosts, we invite you to take a trip back in time to the 1920s. This year’s gala is sure to be the cat’s meow — and that ain’t no baloney. It’ll be a roaring good time with surprise entertainment, a live auction, gourmet cuisine and smooth spirits … all while raising support for ground-breaking biomedical research that will benefit millions of people around the world.
“The three of us have banded together to make Sanford-Burnham one of our top philanthropic priorities. During the gala, you will have the opportunity to support research in cancer, childhood diseases, aging, stem cells, and infectious and inflammatory diseases.
“We thank Life Technologies for its support as this year’s presenting sponsor.”
Cheers!
