Stella Maris to host annual Open House

Stella Maris Academy, the K-8 parochial school of Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church, invites the community to tour the school and meet the teachers at an open house from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 27 at 7654 Herschel Ave. Stella Maris Academy was founded more than 60 years ago and is WASC and WCEA accredited. In 2005, Stella Maris received the Blue Ribbon School designation from the U.S. Department of Education. In addition to a foundation in the core studies, the school’s enrichment programs include Art Literacy, Spanish at all grade levels, Academic Decathlon, Junior Achievement/Biz Town and more.
