What La Jolla Home Theater & Automation can do for you is like a space-age cartoon.

“It’s kind of like the “Jetsons,” if you can think of it — we’ll automate it for you,” said Ashley Spiker, director of marketing and business operations for the business, which has a homey showroom at 6837 La Jolla Blvd.

“A lot of businesses that do what we do are in industrial and office areas that don’t translate well to a home setting,” said Spiker, noting their space has mock ups of a dining room, a game room and a home theater.

Picking up an all-purpose keypad the size of a book, Spiker demonstrated its one-touch capabilities.

“I can go from Blu-ray to a movie server, whatever it is you do you can do it right here,” she said. “You can even do lighting. Want to close the shades in the dining room?”

The people at La Jolla Home Theater & Automation, formerly known as Binacorp, are audio and video specialists with 46 years of combined experience in automation, audio/ video installation and programming, as well as being certified THX professionals.

The company can deal with any electronic setup from basic TV installation to elaborate whole home automation.

Spiker said everything the company does is custom.

“What you have in your home is probably different than your neighbors,” she noted. “The first thing we do is consulting, go to someone’s home and figure out what their goals are.”

The company’s website, www.lajollahomeaudio.com, says its mission is “to create harmonious environments, seamlessly bridging man to machine: Technology should simplify life not complicate it.”

A full menu of residential and commercial services includes home automation, home theater, consulting and design, audio installation, video installation, computer networking, remote programming and wiring.
