La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club to host Amigos Cup


The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club will host the annual Amigos Cup 2010 (La Copa Amigos 2010), Nov. 4, through Nov. 7. Started more than 29 years ago in Mexico City, the Amigos Cup is a tennis competition between the United States and Mexico whose host cities rotate between Mexico and the United States.

This four-day event will feature both morning singles matches and afternoon doubles matches on Friday and Saturday, with final matches on Nov. 7, starting at 9 a.m.

The Amigos Cup 2010 overlaps with another major professional tennis event coming to San Diego. The city of San Diego has been selected by the United States Tennis Association to host the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Final between USA and Italy, taking place on Nov. 6 and 7 at the San Diego Sports Arena.
