Tickets on sale for Scripps luncheon
Chris Van Gorder, CEO of Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla will speak about “Bringing Miss Scripps’ Legacy to the People of Haiti” at the annual luncheon in honor of Ellen Browning Scripps’ birthday, 11:30 to 2 p.m. Oct. 16 at the hospital. The La Jolla Historical Society is hosting the event.
In response to January’s 7.0-magnitude earthquake in Haiti, Scripps Health deployed teams of nurses, physicians and support staff to Port-au-Prince to provide humanitarian relief. Luncheon tickets are $50-$60 at (858) 459-5335 or events@lajollahistory.org.
