La Jolla Elementary School students go for fun
School isn’t all about work at La Jolla Elementary School. Last week’s activities featured fifth-grade Spirit Day, when students wore hats and ties. Then, on Friday, kindergarten families celebrated the end of the first month of the school with the annual kindergarten circus. The four kindergarten teachers — including Marisa Martin — kicked off the fun by dressing up as clowns. Each student paid “tickets” that had been earned in class to participate in activities such as face painting, three-legged races and bowling.
They could also “purchase” popcorn and juice with their tickets.
The event culminated two weeks of circus-themed math and literacy projects.
