La Jolla Country Day selected for showcase
The high school basketball season is still a few months away, but one local team will be in the spotlight early in the year. The La Jolla Country Day girl’s basketball team has been selected to participate in the San Diego Elite Eight Showcase on Jan. 17. The event will be played at the USD Sports Center. Last season, the Torreys captured the CIF Division IV title. The Torreys have high expectations this season as they return the twin-sister tandem of Malina and Maya Hood.
