Green expo coming to the Cove

It’s a Green Day Festival from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 17 at Ellen Browning Scripps Park at La Jolla Cove, 1142 Coast Blvd.

CSI West will sponsor the electrical energy that will power the stage with energy from the sun. There will be free reggae and blues music by East of Echo and Subliminal Trip — Zumba by Ninfa, an eco parade led by The Panamanian Marching Band, and much more.

Visitors will learn about the technologies that promote solutions to environmental problems, ways to green the world by saving energy, reducing pollution, recycling, and using green home products. There will also be raffles, educational workshops and children’s activities. All Green Electronic Recycling (www.allgreenrecycling.com) will provide a free, E-Waste Drop-Off at the La Jolla Recreation Center, 615 Prospect Street.
