DetermiNation is the American Cancer Society’s nation of athletes determined to end cancer and save lives by dedicating training and race participation in the Carlsbad half — or full marathon on Jan. 23, 2011, to help fight a disease that has already taken many lives. With every step you take and every mile you conquer, you’ll be helping to save lives.

The American Cancer Society DetermiNation endurance event program will provide the support, training, and fundraising tools needed to achieve your personal victory — first to raise funds that will help save lives, and then to cross the finish line on race day. To get started, and join the thousands of athletes who have had an experience of a lifetime, while raising millions for the fight against all types of cancer, visit www.acsdetermination.org/carlsbad.

An introductory meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 21 at Road Runner Sports, 5549 Copley Drive, San Diego.
