Legion kicks off new season

The inaugural meeting for the American Legion Post 275′s new season will be an evening one on Sept. 16 at the La Jolla Shores Hotel, 8110 Camino del Oro.

Magician Michael E. Johnson will be the featured guest. He grew up in San Marcos and as a young boy received an award from the American Legion. He has received recognition several times by his peers of The International Brotherhood of Magicians as the San Diego Entertainer of the Year.

The reception starts at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and wine, followed by dinner with a choice of three entrees. The new officers of the post will be presented to Cmdr. Ted Pasnak of Area 5 of California and Cmdr. Jim Coatney of District 22 of San Diego. Special awards recognizing some members of the post will be presented.
