Nearly 4,000 students return to school in La Jolla

Nearly 4,000 students returning to La Jolla’s public schools Tuesday were greeted by staff, faculty and volunteers who aimed to help out with every need, from helping them get P.E. clothes to finding classrooms.

And for four days last week at La Jolla High, more than 200 parent volunteers dedicated over 1,200 hours to register La Jolla High’s 1,640 enrolled students. Registering students the week before school resumes allows students to begin their studies the first day fully registered with their class schedules, books and even their lockers. The registration process is a joint effort between LJHS staff, PTA members and the school’s “Link Crew” student volunteers
