Torrey Pines kindergarten families gather at La Jolla park
Parents and their children who are starting kindergarten at Torrey Pines Elementary School on Sunday gathered for a get-to-know-you picnic at Villa La Jolla Park.
While the children frolicked on the playground, parents chatted about the coming school year. Twenty-two children and 60 family members turned out.
The fun was part of a summer program that included two other Sunday afternoon gatherings designed to ease the transition to the youngsters’ new school.
