The Bill Magee Blues Band paid tribute to Spencer Wilson, playing “Happy Birthday” to the 98-year-old at Sunday’s Concert by the Sea. For years, Wilson managed the Granada and Cove theaters in La Jolla and taught generations of local youth theater manners during 60 years in the business. A member of the La Jolla Kiwanis Club, he has had perfect attendance for 73 years. His longtime friend Nancy Miller, wrote in an e-mail that “when I asked him how old he was this morning, he said he was 21 – so he is 21 for the 77th time.”
