Laptop stolen from Republic Party's county headquarters
By City News Service
The Republican Party of San Diego County’s Sorrento Valley headquarters was broken into over the weekend and a laptop computer stolen, local GOP officials reported Monday.
Tony Krvaric, chairman of the local Republican Party, said the burglary happened sometime between 6 p.m. Friday and 9 this morning, while delegates from around the state attended the California Republican Party convention at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in downtown San Diego.
“While the perpetrators of this crime are not yet known, the apparently selective burglary of the county Republican headquarters at the same time and in the same city the state Republican convention is taking place is suspicious,” Krvaric said. “We hope this is not just the latest example of political dirty tricks.”
Krvaric said the doors to the county Republican Party headquarters, at 5703 Oberlin Drive, Suite 107, were forced open and a laptop computer removed. Other high-value items were left behind, he said.
A police report has been filed, Krvaric said.
