Two arrested on suspicion of snatching purse

By City News Service

Two men were in custody Wednesday accused of snatching a young woman’s purse in Pacific Beach, dragging her from a pickup truck about half-a-block in the process, police said.

The 21-year-old woman said the men yelled out for directions from inside a pickup truck on Hornblend Street, near Haines Street, around 2 a.m., according to San Diego police.

When she approached, one of the men inside reached out and grabbed her purse, police said, adding that as the men drove off, the woman was dragged about a half-a-block.

She suffered “road-rash” in the process but was otherwise OK, police said.

A short time later, an officer spotted a pick-up matching the description of the one used in the robbery on Interstate 5 and pulled it over. The woman identified one of the men during a roadside line-up, leading to both men being arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault, police said.

Their names were not immediately available.

One of my favorite places to visit is Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park, next to Disneyland Park in Anaheim (I have a well-used Premium Annual Passport). If you haven’t been there, you absolutely must go. Highlights are the recreations of Route 66 and C […]
