Newcomers to Bird Rock Elementary mingle

Parents of incoming Bird Rock Elementary School kindergartners and the children spent time getting to know each other last weekend at Fanuel Park.

When school starts on Sept. 7, the schedule will change with the school day starting at 8:45 a.m. and ending at 3:15 p.m.

Kindergarten classes on the first day will be open at 8:30 a.m. so parents can visit the classrooms. When the bell rings, parents will be welcomed in the auditorium for a brief orientation.

Parents of all students area encouraged to park a few blocks away from school and ‘Walk a Block’ to help with traffic in the immediate area of the school.

Registration for new students continues fro 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Call (858) 488-0537 for information.
