UCSD makes three 'best colleges' lists

UCSD is one of the best colleges in the West, according to The Princeton Review’s “2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region” guide. The campus also is listed as one of the country’s best institutions for undergraduate education in The Princeton Review’s annual college guide, “The Best 373 Colleges.”

“The Best 373 Colleges” book is based on The Princeton Review’s survey of 122,000 students (about 325 per campus on average) attending the colleges in the book and not on The Princeton Review’s opinion of the schools.

UCSD was also named among the top 25 research universities in the nation by The Center for Measuring University Performance in its annual “Top American Research Universities” publication. The center’s analysis noted several strengths of the university, including its number of faculty awards, SAT/ACT range of entering freshmen, doctorates granted and post-doctoral appointees.
