The Del Mar Racetrack hosted the second-annual Miss Cougar Del Mar Contest on Friday. Twenty four of Del Mar’s charming cougars, a fun-loving female staple at the seaside oval, competed for the title of Miss Cougar Del Mar 2010. The event has quickly become another track trademark.

Selected Friday via text and Twitter, this year’s winner is C.C. Perkinson, a Texas native who now lives in Sherman Oaks, Calif. She entered the Miss Cougar Del Mar Contest to remind other women to embrace younger men that love older, established and well-balanced women.

Perkinson was a racehorse jockey from 1998 to 2005. The Del Mar Racetrack was one of the first places C.C. raced, which is what led her to the Miss Cougar Del Mar Contest.

The Miss Cougar Del Mar Contest is held in celebration of the Cougar II Handicap. The one and one-half mile race is Del Mar’s longest stakes race and is named after the Hall of Fame race horse, Cougar II.

If you haven’t been there, you absolutely must go. Highlights are the recreations of Route 66 and C […]
