La Jolla All-Stars finish third in Western U.S. Bronco play

The La Jolla Broncos All-Stars run for a championship ended Saturday afternoon when they lost their second game of the double-elimination West Zone tournament to West Covina.

Had they won,they would have moved on to the championship game on Sunday, with the winner advancing to the World Series later in the week.

Earlier in the day, they had lost 11-1 to Ewa, Hawaii, which will face West Covina. The La Jolla team’s finish was the highest ever for a La Jolla youth baseball team.
