Community Church hosts vacation Bible school

La Jolla Community Church, a 3-year-old non-denominational Christian church in the UTC area, is holding its first-ever vacation Bible school for children ages 5 through fifth grade, July 14-18, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to Charles Molenkamp, Director of Children’s Ministries at LJCC, the week-long program will take children on a trip to “Cosmic City,” a futuristic space city where “God’s wonder will dazzle their hearts and minds. They’ll discover and experience the awesome wonder of God in a new way every day as they visit the city’s stellar attractions.”

The vacation Bible school will include drama, arts and crafts, science, music, small groups and recreation. On Friday night at 5:30, all of the families are invited to an “Out Of This World” Extravaganza, an evening of fun, free food, fellowship and a special performance by the kids.

“We’re excited to reach out to the community with our first-ever VBS,” Molenkamp said. “We have an enthusiastic group of parents and teens who have been working hard to make this a really fun and memorable week where kids will grow in their understanding of God and how much He loves them.”

Cost for the week is $50 per child and $35 for each sibling.

For more information and to download a registration form, please visit the church Web site at www.ljcommunitychurch.org. Or send an email to vbs@ljcommunitychurch.org.

La Jolla Community Church is located at 4377 Eastgate Mall, just east of Genesee.

If you haven’t been there, you absolutely must go. Highlights are the recreations of Route 66 and C […]
