Salk Institute Elects Gerald L. Parsky to its Board of Trustees

The Salk Institute announced the election of Gerald L. Parsky to its Board of Trustees.

The Board unanimously approved the appointment at its recent meeting in New York City. The former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs, Parsky is chairman and partner of the Los Angeles-based Aurora Capital Group (ACG) and serves as an advisor on the Board of Directors for real estate developer The Irvine Company.

Parsky also has a long history with the University of California system. He has served as a Trustee of the UCSD Foundation and served on the Board of Visitors for the Anderson Graduate School of Business at UCLA. In 1996, Governor Pete Wilson appointed Parsky to the UC Board of Regents, on which he served as Chairman from 2004-2007.

“Gerald Parsky’s stellar background in law, the financial sector, and his service to higher education in California highly complements the Salk Institute’s Board,” said Irwin M. Jacobs, chairman of Salk’s Board of Trustees. “We are honored to have him join our esteemed group
of business and scientific leaders.”
