Gallery celebrates grand opening
Sally Huss Gallery at 7932 Ivanhoe Ave. is having a Grand Opening celebration on Sunday, May 4 at 4 p.m. All are invited. At the event a beautiful, framed, signed and numbered 30″ x 40″ serigraph will be given away. The lucky winner’s name will be drawn from the names collected from now until 2 p.m. on the day of the event.

Lightner calls for parking advisory board’s dismissal
Sherri Lightner, a District One candidate for the seat being vacated by termed-out incumbent Scott Peters, has called upon the city council president to dissolve the La Jolla Community Parking District Advisory Board.

Lightner also called upon Peters to cancel the current contract between Promote La Jolla, the community’s dues-paying Business Improvement District, and the city of San Diego to operate the La Jolla parking advisory board. She furthermore requested that Peters dissolve the La Jolla Community Parking District in a letter to the incumbent councilman.

Town Councilman Bonner strikes out on his own
Commercial realtor Trenton Bonner, a member of La Jolla Town Council who will be the next president of La Jolla Kiwanis Club, has resigned from Grubb & Ellis | BRE Commercial and opened his own business at 7734 Herschel Ave., Suite C, in La Jolla.

Bonner worked for 19 years with Coldwell Banker (CB Richard Ellis) and 12 years with BRE Commercial.

“It has been a great ride,” said Bonner. ” Now is the time for me to not only expand the scope of my business but to become more involved with the community and local charitable causes.”

The name of the new business is Trenton Bonner Coastal Real Estate. It will be involved in real estate transactions such as investment acquisitions, development, commercial and residential sales and the purchase of businesses primarily along the coast.

La Jolla bank signs $5 million lease renewal
The San Diego office of Cushman & Wakefield announced that Imperial Capital Bancorp has signed a five-year, $5,023,560 lease renewal for 21,903 square feet of office space in the La Jolla Bank Building at 888 Prospect St. in La Jolla.

The lessee was represented by Michael Jones of Cresa Partners. The lessor, 888 Prospect LJ, LLC, was represented by Michael Dyer and Pascal Aubry-Dumand of Cushman & Wakefield.

Imperial Capital Bancorp occupies suites 100-300 of the building for its corporate and administrative headquarters.
