Zandra Rhodes shows fashion at the Westgate
Zandra Rhodes has been a fashion icon for decades, and her designs are still at the cutting edge of the fashion world. Recently, Rhodes showed off a colorful and wildly original collection of cruise wear at the Westgate Hotel. The event was a benefit for The American Friends of The Zandra Rhodes Museum in London – and as usual, Rhodes had plenty of friends from La Jolla at the luncheon and fashion show.
Local millinary designer Diana Cavagnaro and jewelry designer Tamara Alter also contributed to the stunning runway show. The delicious lunch was designed by La Jolla-based cooking guru Jeanne Jones. It featured chilled ginger carrot soup, curried chicken salad with tropical fruit and baked Alaska for dessert.
Among the large local crowd of fashion-minded women enjoying the afternoon event were Lael and Annika Kovtun, Wanda Kaufman, Marie Chemali, Dianne York-Goldman, Joan Bowes, Merle Lotherington, Joan Jacobs, Joy Furby, Valerie Cooper, Barbara Bloom, Mary Walker, Carol Karlovich, Esther Paul and Viviana Polinsky.
