New art book features more than 50 La Jolla paintings

“Land of Sunlight,” a new art book featuring 450 contemporary paintings of San Diego County by more than 100 fine artists, features more than 50 paintings of La Jolla.
“Black’s Beach Goat Trail” by Jesse Miller and “Morning, La Jolla Shores” by Gerrye Riffenburgh are pictured here. Torrey Pines State Park, Black’s Beach, La Jolla Shores, La Jolla Cove, WindanSea and several other La Jolla locales are featured in multiple interpretations in the collection. Both local and nationally-known artists capture the Jewel in their own individual styles.
The new book, compiled by James Lightner and published by San Diego Flora, is available in La Jolla at three locations: Warwick’s Bookstore, at 7812 Girard Ave., Alcala Gallery, at 950 Silverado St., and The Lodge at Torrey Pines, at 11480 N Torrey Pines Rd.
